Buckeye Police Investigate Apparent Domestic Violence Shooting Involving Former Couple

At approximately 10:45 a.m. today, Buckeye Police responded to reports of a shooting in a residential neighborhood near McDowell Road and Sienna Hills Parkway.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a harrowing scene involving two young adults.
A woman in her early 20s was found lying in the doorway of a home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her back.
Nearby, a man, also in his early 20s, was found on the ground in front of the house with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Officers immediately began performing life-saving measures on both individuals.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, while the man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that this incident stemmed from a domestic violence situation involving the two individuals, who were reportedly former romantic partners.
The Buckeye Police Department has stated that the investigation is ongoing as they work to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
