At Least Three Dead, Five Injured in Shooting Outside El Camaron Gigante Glendale

No arrests have been made, though several individuals have been detained for questioning.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Glendale Police have confirmed that three individuals were killed and five others injured following a mass shooting that took place Sunday evening, May 4, at a busy restaurant near 57th and Glendale Avenues.

The shooting occurred around 7:45 p.m. at El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse, prompting a massive emergency response and a rapidly unfolding investigation.

Police described the incident as “chaotic,” with gunfire erupting in a crowded area.

During a briefing, Glendale Police Officer Moroni Mendez stated, “What I can confirm is that there are multiple people shot.

The number is closer to nine now.” Authorities are continuing to assess the total number of victims as the investigation progresses.

As of the latest update, three people have been confirmed deceased. Five others were wounded and transported to area hospitals.

Their conditions have not been publicly released.

Police now believe multiple suspects may have been involved.

One of the alleged shooters was reportedly carrying a rifle-style weapon.

Authorities released a description of one suspect: a Latino man with long brown hair, wearing a red hat, red shirt, and dark jeans.

Investigators have not yet confirmed whether a deceased individual found in a vehicle nearby was among the suspects.

“No officers or security guards were involved in the shooting,” Mendez confirmed. “There are no apprehensions at the moment, but we have several individuals detained. Detectives are working to determine whether they are suspects, witnesses, victims, or individuals with investigative relevance.”

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and police have not yet released information regarding what may have led to the violence.

Officers and detectives remain on scene gathering evidence, including surveillance footage, and continue to speak with witnesses.

Authorities are working closely with business owners in the area, some of whom reported damage to their properties from stray gunfire.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
