Buckeye Local JR/SR High School on lockdown after shooting threat on Snapchat
Buckeye Local High School has been placed on a soft lockdown after receiving an indirect threat. The school district announced on social media that the Sheriff’s Department is investigating the matter.
A concerned citizen shared a Snapchat message that contained a disturbing threat: “Nobody knows me but we’re shooting up the Buckeye Local. We aren’t lying this time and we’re gonna hurt everyone. We have main targets on the 6th, 7th, 8th grade. We’re going to the elementary next. This is not a drill. We’re coming some day this week.”
In response to the threat, Buckeye Local Schools has alerted authorities and implemented a heightened security alert for all school buildings.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
