Siblings 21-year-old Mariana Grier and 20-year-old Antwon Grier killed in Euclid apartment complex shooting
One suspect, an 18-year-old woman, was detained in Garfield Heights with assistance from the local police department.
Euclid, Ohio – Two siblings, identified as 21-year-old Mariana Grier and 20-year-old Antwon Grier, were fatally shot during a gathering in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Euclid Avenue near East 221st Street on Tuesday evening.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirmed the deaths, which occurred after gunfire erupted among a crowd in the complex’s parking lot shortly after 7 p.m.
Both siblings sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to University Hospitals, where they were pronounced dead.
Surveillance footage from the Green Ridge Apartments captured the moments leading up to the shooting.
The video shows a group of four women gathered in a back parking lot. One of the women appeared agitated and punched her hand, as though preparing for a confrontation.
A blue SUV, reportedly driven by Mariana, is seen entering the area shortly afterward. According to the apartment manager, Mariana and her sister, who resides in the complex, were returning from a grocery trip.
As the SUV turned into the parking lot, Antwon Grier is seen confronting the group of women. Moments later, the women scattered as the SUV moved to another part of the lot.
Footage then shows Mariana and her sister exiting the SUV and attempting to flee the scene. Tragically, Mariana collapses suddenly, having been struck by gunfire.
Euclid police stated in a news release that they have developed strong leads in the case. One suspect, an 18-year-old woman, was detained in Garfield Heights with assistance from the local police department. She has since been handed over to Euclid authorities for questioning.
Officials have not disclosed further details about the suspect’s role or potential motives in the shooting.
The incident has left the Euclid community shaken. The apartment complex, which houses many families, is now the site of a somber investigation as residents grapple with the violent loss of two young lives.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
