Woman killed in shooting at Woodforest Bank inside the Walmart on Fayetteville Road in Lumberton

Lumberton, NC – A tragic shooting at the Lumberton Super Walmart on Fayetteville Road Friday afternoon claimed the life of a woman, according to police.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:45 p.m. following reports of gunfire inside the store.
Upon arrival, they located a woman suffering from gunshot wounds near the Woodforest Bank inside the Walmart. Bystanders were performing life-saving measures until emergency responders arrived.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to UNC Health Southeastern for treatment.
Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.
Authorities reported that the suspects fled the store and left the area following the shooting.
Police do not currently believe that anyone else was injured during the incident.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
