22-Year-Old Jesus Ramiro Rodriguez Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 36-Year-Old Man Near Chesterley Skate Park in Yakima

Yakima, WA – A 36-year-old man was shot and killed Monday evening near Chesterley Skate Park, prompting a swift response from law enforcement and the arrest of a suspect, according to the Yakima Police Department.

The incident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. on May 12, when Yakima police received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area of the park.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Despite efforts to administer lifesaving aid, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses provided crucial information that enabled law enforcement to quickly identify a suspect. With assistance from the Washington State Patrol and the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, officers located and arrested 22-year-old Jesus Ramiro Rodriguez near the scene.

He was booked into the Yakima County Jail on suspicion of murder.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
