Jessica Arevalos Fatally Shot in Parking Lot of Blue Clouds Market on Wible Road in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night, April 5, 2025, in south Bakersfield.
According to officials, deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of Blue Clouds Market, located on Wible Road, just south of Belle Terrace, at approximately 11:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies located at least one gunshot victim at the scene.
The victim, now identified as Jessica Arevalos, was pronounced deceased.
Authorities have not released any information regarding additional victims at this time.
The shooting prompted the temporary closure of the market parking lot and sections of Wible Road as deputies secured the area and began their investigation.
The roadway has since reopened as of early Sunday morning.
As of now, no suspect information has been released, and no arrests have been made.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
