19-Year-Old Arrested in Connection with Fatal Shooting at Lockhart City Park

Lockhart, TX – Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of another teenager at City Park in Lockhart early Friday morning.
According to the Lockhart Police Department, Aaron Jose Lopez, 19, has been charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the death of Michael Glasscock, 19.
Police responded to the park on East City Park Road around 2 a.m. after receiving information about a deceased individual.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Glasscock’s body with apparent gunshot wounds.
Following an initial investigation, authorities developed probable cause to arrest Lopez, who was later taken into custody and formally charged.
Officials confirmed that the scene has been processed, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The Texas Rangers and the Caldwell County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation, which remains active.
This incident marks Lockhart’s first homicide of 2025.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
