28-year-old Kane Crockett killed in Bay City shooting
Bay City, MI – Authorities are actively searching for a suspect involved in a deadly shooting that occurred early Saturday morning near a bar on the city’s east side.
The Bay City Department of Public Safety reported that officers responded to a shots-fired call at approximately 2:00 a.m. near the intersection of 18th Street and South Sherman Street, in the vicinity of 11:11 Bar and Grill.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 28-year-old Kane Elliot Crockett suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders transported Crockett to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during emergency surgery.
Investigators have identified a suspect who fled the scene before officers arrived.
The individual is described as a light-skinned Black male who was last seen leaving the area in a red sedan.
Detectives are working to gather additional details and review any available surveillance footage from the surrounding area.
Authorities have not yet released a possible motive for the shooting.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
