20-year-old killed in Fall River shooting, brother in custody

Fall River, MA – Law enforcement authorities are actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this afternoon at a residence on the 900 block of Rodman Street.

The Fall River Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting that a young man had been shot inside a home.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 20-year-old male victim, identified as Jaleale Simmons, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency medical personnel provided immediate aid before transporting the victim to a nearby trauma center.

Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

A family member of the victim was taken into custody in connection with the incident.

At this time, investigators believe the shooting was an isolated event, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The case remains under active investigation by the Fall River Police Department, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, and homicide prosecutors from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities acknowledge the tragic loss of life and extend their deepest condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
