Gun Barrel City Man Arrested After Woman Fatally Shot

Gun Barrel City, TX – A 23-year-old Gun Barrel City man has been arrested following the fatal shooting of a woman on Sunday, according to law enforcement officials.
John David Bunch-Stiles has been charged with criminally negligent homicide in connection with the death of 22-year-old Mackenzie Wisdom, also of Gun Barrel City.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Henderson County Jail, where he remains as of the latest reports.
The Gun Barrel City Police Department responded to a shooting call at approximately 4:08 p.m. on Sunday in the 300 block of Flagship Lane.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Wisdom suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The Gun Barrel City Police Department, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office, launched an investigation, which led to Bunch-Stiles’ arrest.
Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident, though the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
Bunch-Stiles was officially booked into the Henderson County Jail on Monday.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
