1 dead, 3 wounded in Indianapolis shooting

Indianapolis, IN – A deadly shooting on the east side of Indianapolis has left one person dead and three others injured Tuesday afternoon, prompting an active investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).

Emergency responders were first dispatched around 12:15 p.m. to reports of a person shot in the 3800 block of E. 36th Street.

Around the same time, IMPD officers responded to a second shooting scene nearby in the 3500 block of Wallace Avenue.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered four victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while the conditions of the remaining three victims have not yet been disclosed.

The shooting took place in a residential area just east of Joseph T. McKeon Jr. Park, a neighborhood that has seen an increase in violent crime in recent months.

Homicide detectives have been called in to lead the investigation, and IMPD officers are currently gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses.

No suspect information has been released at this time, and authorities have not yet determined whether the shootings at the two locations are connected.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
