Suspect in Custody as Copperas Cove Police Investigate Fatal Shooting
COPPERAS COVE, TX — The Copperas Cove Police Department has confirmed that a suspect is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, February 1.
At approximately 11:48 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Tanner Drive following reports of a gunshot victim.
Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Shasmine Clark suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel transported Clark to AdventHealth Central Texas, where she later succumbed to her injuries despite lifesaving efforts.
Through an initial investigation, which included interviews with witnesses at the scene, police were able to identify a suspect known to the victim.
The individual was located and taken into custody without incident at a nearby hotel shortly after the shooting.
While the identity of the suspect has not yet been released, police confirmed that details regarding the suspect’s name, charges, and bond information will be provided following their arraignment.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
