2 dead, 5 injured after shooting on Jarvis Avenue in South Los Angeles

A tragic shooting in South Los Angeles on Friday night left two men dead and five others injured, including a teenage boy, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).
Deputies responded to reports of gunshot victims around 8:00 p.m. in the 13200 block of Jarvis Avenue.
While initial information indicated the incident occurred near Athens Park, the reported address is located several blocks southeast of the park, in close proximity to Barack Obama Charter Elementary School.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.
Authorities confirmed that four additional adult male victims and one male juvenile had also sustained gunshot injuries.
All five were transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
As of now, no information regarding potential suspects or a motive has been released. The investigation remains ongoing.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
