27-year-old Cristiano Macedo killed after shooting at Morna Lounge and Grill in New Bedford
New Bedford, MA – A shooting inside a bar in New Bedford early Saturday morning has left one person dead and two others injured, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
At approximately 1:21 a.m. on Saturday, New Bedford Police responded to reports of shots fired inside the Morna Lounge and Grill, located at 1621 Acushnet Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
- Victim 1: A 27-year-old male, Cristiano Macedo, of New Bedford, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
- Victims 2 and 3: Two female victims were also transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for their injuries. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
The investigation into the shooting is active and ongoing.
No arrests have been made, and law enforcement has not released details about potential suspects or motives.
The investigation is being led by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, in collaboration with the New Bedford Police Department and Homicide Unit prosecutors.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
