25-year-old Jacub Carver charged with murder in shooting death of 24-year-old Ronnie Rowe in Green Township

A fatal shooting on Thursday evening in Green Township, Ohio, has left one man dead and another facing murder charges, according to Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman.

Incident Details

The shooting occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Disterdick Lane. Deputies and detectives arriving at the scene found the body of 24-year-old Ronnie L. Rowe of South Shore, Kentucky, behind the wheel of a Chevy Equinox riddled with multiple bullet holes.

Investigators determined that Rowe was fatally shot while seated in the vehicle. His body has been sent to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.

Suspect and Witness Located

Sheriff Thoroughman stated that detectives identified the shooter as 25-year-old Jacub Tyler Carver of Franklin Furnace, Ohio.

Carver was detained at the scene and later charged with one count of murder, a first-degree felony.

Detectives also learned that another male had been inside the Chevy Equinox during the shooting.

This individual fled the scene but was located minutes later walking along U.S. Route 52 in the Franklin Furnace area. He was detained and taken to the Sheriff’s Office for questioning.

Legal Proceedings and Investigation

Carver is currently being held on a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday, November 18, 2024.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) was called to assist with processing the crime scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

“This tragic incident is being thoroughly investigated to ensure justice for the victim and his family,” Sheriff Thoroughman stated.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
