The City of Monroe Police Department is investigating a tragic shooting incident involving a minor, which took place on the 400 block of Borgess Street during the early afternoon hours on Wednesday, November 13.

Authorities have confirmed that the minor sustained fatal injuries and was the sole individual involved in the incident.

In respect of the family and due to the sensitive nature of the case, no further details are being disclosed at this time.

The Monroe Police Department assures the community that it is committing all necessary resources to conduct a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
