A 17-year-old boy, Tyler Parks, was tragically shot and killed on Saturday evening in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

At approximately 7 p.m. on November 9, 2024, Chicago Police responded to a call about an unconscious person on 125th Street and State Street.

When officers arrived, they found Tyler lying in the middle of the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigations indicate there were no shell casings found at the location, leading police to believe Tyler may have been shot elsewhere, and his body subsequently left on 125th Street.

Witnesses reported seeing a silver SUV leaving the area shortly before police arrived. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed Tyler’s identity.

Area Two detectives are actively investigating the case, but no suspects are in custody at this time.
