36-year-old Andrej Kucher killed after shooting at Shae’s Tavern in Reno, suspect John Seger arrested

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner has identified 36-year-old Andrej Kucher as the victim of a fatal shooting at Shae’s Tavern in Reno.

Kucher was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at Renown Hospital. His death has been ruled a homicide, with the cause determined to be a gunshot wound to the head.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the Reno Police Department provided an update, confirming the arrest of 42-year-old John Paul Seger in connection with the overnight shooting in Reno’s midtown district.

Seger now faces several charges, including open murder, three counts of battery with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited individual.

The Reno Police Department’s SWAT and Critical Incident Negotiation Team located Seger on Cedar Street near Dick Taylor Park.

Officers successfully apprehended him around 2 p.m., attributing the swift capture to helpful information provided by the community.

The deadly shooting occurred on South Virginia Street near St. Lawrence Avenue, leaving several people injured.

In addition to Kucher’s death, another man remained in critical condition Saturday afternoon, while a man and a woman were reported to be in stable condition.

This remains an active investigation as law enforcement continues gathering details about the incident and the events leading up to it.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
