Centralia Teen Released After Alleged Accidental Shooting of 14-Year-Old Due to Lack of Juvenile Facility Space
The injured girl was treated for her injuries and is expected to recover.

A 14-year-old girl was accidentally shot at a residence on East Rasback in Centralia on Wednesday morning, October 23rd.
The incident occurred around 8:15 AM while the girl was visiting with two male acquaintances.
A 15-year-old male, who was also present, mishandled a firearm, resulting in the accidental discharge that struck the girl in the leg.
The injured girl was treated for her injuries and is expected to recover.
The 15-year-old male was initially taken into custody on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and aggravated assault.
However, due to a lack of space at the juvenile detention facility, he was released.
The Centralia Police Department is investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances and whether additional charges may be filed.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
