Burned body of 21-year-old Kiya Holt-Biggs found in Baden, suspect Zaveon Mills at large

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) has identified the victim of a homicide that occurred in the Baden neighborhood on Saturday, October 19th.

Kiya Holt-Biggs, a 21-year-old resident of Granite City, Illinois, was found deceased in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Switzer Avenue around 8:30 PM.

Officers discovered the woman unconscious, not breathing, and tragically set on fire.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Detectives have identified Zaveon Mills, 21, as the suspected perpetrator of the crime.

Mills is believed to have fled the St. Louis area and may have left the state to avoid arrest.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has charged Mills with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
