Fatal Shooting Following Pursuit in Port Arthur, Texas
Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting at end of chase.

A high-speed chase that began in Bridge City, Texas on Tuesday morning resulted in a fatal officer-involved shooting.
The incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. when a suspect fled the scene of a disturbance.
The pursuit led the suspect onto Highway 73, where a Chambers County Constable’s office motorcycle deputy, who was part of a heavy equipment transport convoy, was injured in a collision involving a vehicle involved in the chase.
The deputy sustained non-serious injuries.
The chase continued onto 16th Street at Green Avenue, where it ultimately came to a conclusion with law enforcement officers firing multiple shots.
The suspect was fatally shot, and one law enforcement officer suffered a minor leg injury, likely from a ricocheting bullet.
The incident unfolded near West Orange Stark Middle School, prompting school administrators to implement a shelter-in-place protocol to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the fatal shooting in conjunction with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
