Shooting incident near Tidwell and Sam Houston High School on lockdown

Houston, Texas (October 10, 2024) – A shooting incident has occurred in the 9400 block of Irvington near Tidwell, prompting a search for evading suspects by Houston Police Department (HPD) officers.
As a precautionary measure, Sam Houston High School may be on lockdown to ensure the safety of students.
Due to the high volume of calls, the school’s phone lines may be temporarily unavailable.
Megarita Collins told Channel2 NOW, “My friend is a teacher there, and she texted me saying the school was on lockdown.
Gaby Orozco Ruiz told Channel2 NOW, “My kids are messaging me. My son is hiding in a storage room, and they have no power.”

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
