17-year-old Antoine Smith shot and killed in Auburn Gresham, Chicago
No arrests have been made, and Area 2 detectives are actively investigating the homicide.

The Cook County Medical Examiner has identified 17-year-old Antwon Smith, also known as “TJ” or “Lil Ghost,” as the teen shot and killed late Tuesday night, October 1, 2024.
Chicago Police responded to reports of gunfire and a person shot near 78th & Ashland.
Upon arrival, officers found Antwon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
He was rushed to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to CPD, Antwon was outside when a suspect drove up and fired several shots at him before fleeing the scene.
No arrests have been made, and Area 2 detectives are actively investigating the homicide.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
