No evidence of active shooter found at Ware County High School
Ware County High School is currently on lockdown due to reports of a gunshot fired. Law enforcement officials are on the scene investigating the incident, but there is no evidence of an active shooter situation at this time.
School officials have informed parents that officers are working to clear the campus. While the threat is being taken seriously and all necessary protocols are being followed, no injuries have been reported.
Emergency medical technicians have arrived on the scene and are attending to a girl who experienced a seizure, likely triggered by the stress and panic of the alarm or drill.
Once the building is secure, students will be released.
Ware County Schools sent the following message to parents:
Parents, a lockdown is in effect at WCHS right now after reports of a shot fired were received. Law enforcement officials are in the process of clearing the campus. At this time, we do not believe there is an active shooter situation as no evidence has been found to that effect, but we are taking the threat seriously and following our established protocols. We will be releasing students from the high school once the building is cleared. Parents will receive information about pickup times and locations. Please do not come to the campus at this time. It is blocked off. We will continue to send updates as they become available. Thank you.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
