Frank West and Cambre Dean found dead in North Mississippi, Jonathan Kelly in custody
LEE COUNTY, MS – On Friday, May 23, 2025, sheriff’s deputies in Lee County discovered two individuals deceased at a residence on County Road 295 in the Shannon area, prompting an active homicide investigation.
According to Sheriff Jim Johnson, deputies responded to a 911 call around 3:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, they spoke with the property owner and a resident at the location before conducting a search of the premises.
During that search, deputies located the bodies of two victims, later identified as 43-year-old Frank West and 39-year-old Cambre Dean.
Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green confirmed that both victims died as a result of gunshot wounds.
Following the discovery, deputies took 39-year-old Jonathan Kelly of Shannon into custody without incident.
Kelly was initially interviewed as a person of interest.
Based on evidence collected at the scene and findings from the subsequent interview, investigators formally charged him with two counts of First-Degree Murder.
Kelly is currently being held at the Lee County Adult Jail.
His bond has been set at $10 million by the Lee County Justice Court.
The case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding the motive or circumstances leading to the shooting. The Lee County Sheriff’s Department urges anyone with relevant information to contact their office as the investigation continues.
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
