Victims Identified in Deadly Mass Shooting at Macon’s Midtown Daiquiri Bar

MACON, Ga. – A deadly shooting at a local bar early Sunday morning has left three people dead and six others injured, marking one of the deadliest incidents in Macon this year, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

The shooting occurred just after midnight at Midtown Daiquiri Bar and Grill, located at 4376 Log Cabin Drive, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a press release.

Authorities say 911 calls began flooding in around 12:00 a.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement and emergency medical personnel.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered nine people had been shot.

Three victims were later pronounced dead at approximately 1:10 a.m. by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Javonta Faulks, 32
  • Jedarrius Meadows Jr., 28
  • Javarsia Meadows, 24

The six surviving victims were transported to Atrium Health Navicent, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.

The conditions of the injured individuals have not been publicly disclosed at this time.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation, and no suspects have been publicly identified or taken into custody.

Investigators are working to determine what led to the violence inside or around the bar.

Coroner Leon Jones noted that this tragedy marks the deadliest week in Macon so far in 2025, with five homicides reported in three separate incidents.

Prior to this week, the city had recorded four fatal shootings total this year.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this shooting to come forward.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
