Man Killed in Upper Land Park Shooting, Nearly 100 Shell Casings Recovered
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday night in the Upper Land Park neighborhood.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 50 block of Seavey Circle at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, they located a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified by community sources as Darell Curry, also known as “Lil Rell,” a reported member of the local group known as Money Boyz.
Authorities have not formally released his identity.
According to investigators, the shooting was extensive and violent.
Nearly 100 shell casings were recovered at the scene, and two nearby apartment units were also struck by gunfire.
The gunfire reportedly extended from Seavey Circle onto 5th Street, indicating a significant crime scene footprint.
No arrests have been made, and the motive remains under investigation.
Police have not released any suspect information at this time.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
