Biloxi, Mississippi – At approximately 8:00 a.m., Keesler Air Force Base was placed under lockdown following reports that prompted a precautionary security response.

Installation personnel initiated comprehensive security protocols to ensure the safety of all individuals on base.

Following a thorough sweep and investigation by base security forces and supporting agencies, officials have confirmed there were no indications of an active shooter or credible threat to the installation.

The lockdown was enforced out of an abundance of caution to thoroughly assess and secure the area.

Security teams are now concluding final precautionary searches.

The base has been deemed secure, and no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.

Keesler leadership expressed appreciation for the swift response of security personnel and the cooperation of those on base during the event.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
