Footage Captures Chaotic Southeast Houston Shooting That Left One Dead, 13 Injured

HOUSTON, TX — A mass shooting at a family gathering in Southeast Houston early Sunday morning has left one person dead and 13 others injured, according to the Houston Police Department.
The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. in the 6000 block of Cherryhill Street.
According to HPD Assistant Chief Patricia Cantu, the violence began after an uninvited guest was asked to leave the party.
As the individual was departing, he allegedly opened fire on the crowd. Several partygoers returned fire, escalating the situation into a widespread and chaotic gunfight.
HPD officers arrived on scene within three minutes of receiving the initial emergency call.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a highly volatile and active scene. Gunfire was still being reported in the surrounding area as police worked quickly to secure the premises.
Victims were found across multiple locations around the party venue.
Emergency medical services transported several of the wounded to nearby hospitals, while others were driven to medical facilities by private vehicles.
Notably, three shooting victims were dropped off at a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant located on Long Street near Loop 610.
In total, 14 individuals sustained gunshot wounds. One person has been confirmed deceased, while several others remain in critical condition undergoing surgery.
The remaining victims are reported to be in stable condition.
Multiple individuals have been detained for questioning, though authorities have not confirmed whether the suspected shooter is among them.
Investigators are currently working multiple connected crime scenes related to the incident.
HPD is urging anyone who attended the party but left before police arrived—or who may have transported victims to hospitals—to come forward.
Witnesses or individuals with information are encouraged to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at (713) 308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).
“This is a very active and complex investigation,” Assistant Chief Cantu stated. “We’re doing everything we can to identify all involved parties and ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
