Kalynthia Mitchell Killed in Montgomery Shooting
Montgomery, Ala. — The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Sunday night.
Officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of Park Towne Way at approximately 11:40 p.m. in response to reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, identified as Kalynthia Mitchell, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel.
A homicide investigation has been launched, and detectives are actively working to gather information surrounding the circumstances of the shooting.
At this time, no further details have been released, including potential suspects or motives.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
