Shooting Incident in South Glens Falls, Suspect Apprehended
SOUTH GLENS FALLS, NY – The New York State Police are actively investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the area of State Route 9 and Catherine Street in South Glens Falls.
Initial reports indicate that a subject was shot during the incident. Emergency medical assistance was immediately requested, and a LifeNet helicopter was dispatched to land on Reynolds Road to transport the injured individual for urgent medical treatment.
The suspect sustained injuries during the encounter; no New York State Troopers were harmed, and no other law enforcement agencies were involved in the shooting.
Following the incident, the suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot down Catherine Street.
A coordinated search effort was launched, including the use of K9 units. Authorities later confirmed that the suspect was apprehended on Jackson Avenue in South Glens Falls.
At this time, the exact circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been disclosed.
However, State Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to community safety.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
