Jasmine Terry killed after shooting in Jacksonville home
JACKSONVILLE, FL – A woman was shot and killed early Tuesday morning inside a Northside Jacksonville home, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
The incident occurred in the 800 block of Hartshill Place around 3:30 a.m.
JSO Homicide Unit Sergeant Ray Reeves reported that officers responded to a 911 call indicating that someone had been shot inside the residence.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Jasmine Terry suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest.
Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Detectives from JSO’s homicide division were called to the scene and have launched an active investigation.
Several individuals who were present at the time of the shooting have been detained and are cooperating with authorities.
Interviews with witnesses were conducted throughout the day Tuesday, but no arrests have been announced, and details regarding the events leading up to the shooting remain unclear.
At this time, investigators have not released information about a suspect or the nature of the relationship, if any, between Jasmine Terry and the individual responsible for the shooting.
The motive remains under investigation.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
