DALLAS — A woman was shot and killed early Sunday morning in West Dallas, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Officers responded to a call reporting a shooting shortly before 2 a.m. in the 5800 block of Bernal Drive.
Upon arrival, they located a woman, later identified as 24-year-old Maurisha Givens, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded to the scene but were unable to revive Givens. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of now, no information has been released regarding a suspect or motive.
The Dallas Police Department has launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
