Teen Shot Near Chicago Vocational High School
CHICAGO, IL – A 17-year-old male was shot Monday near Chicago Vocational Career Academy (CVS High School), located at 2100 E. 87th Street, prompting a large police response and an active investigation.
According to the Chicago Police Department, multiple 911 calls were received around the time of the incident reporting gunfire in the vicinity of 87th Street and Jeffery Boulevard, near Owens Park and adjacent to the school campus.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound.
The shooting is believed to have occurred outside the school grounds, though in close proximity to the building.
Emergency responders provided immediate aid at the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital. His condition has not yet been publicly released.
Chicago police have not confirmed whether the incident is directly related to school activity, and it remains unclear if the victim is a student at CVS High School.
Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and whether it stemmed from a targeted confrontation or another motive.
Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses. No arrests have been made as of this time.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
