Fatal Stabbing and Vehicle Crash Under Investigation in Town of Blue Mounds
TOWN OF BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. — Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing and related vehicle crash that occurred in the Town of Blue Mounds, located in Dane County.
According to initial reports, emergency crews responded to a call for a domestic disturbance involving a mother and daughter near the Smokey Mountain Trail area.
When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered a woman who had sustained multiple stab wounds.
Despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after the stabbing, a vehicle was found crashed into a grain bin in close proximity to the original incident.
Law enforcement believes the driver of that vehicle may be the suspect connected to the fatal stabbing.
The individual was taken into custody by responding deputies.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved or confirmed the nature of their relationship, though the initial 911 call indicated it may have stemmed from a domestic altercation between family members.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation and has stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
