15-year-old boy killed after shooting at Forest Pointe apartment in Walterboro

WALTERBORO, S.C. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy over the weekend in Walterboro.
Officers with the Walterboro Police Department responded to reports of a disturbance at the Forest Pointe Apartments, located in the 300 building, around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the teenage victim, later identified as Caiden Fishburne, unresponsive at the scene.
Officers immediately began performing CPR while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel.
According to Colleton County Fire-Rescue, the teen had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and exhibited no signs of life when paramedics arrived.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including any information about potential suspects or a motive.
The Walterboro Police Department is actively investigating and has not made any arrests as of Monday.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
