14-Year-Old Victim Identified in Deadly Weekend Shooting and Crash in South Linden
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Police have identified the victim in a deadly shooting and vehicle crash that occurred over the weekend in the South Linden neighborhood.
The victim has been identified as 14-year-old Lorenzio Galloway Jr., according to a statement released by police on Monday.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Cleveland Avenue and East 12th Avenue at approximately 7:47 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, following reports of a vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle involved in the collision.
Emergency medical personnel transported Galloway to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives with the Columbus Police Homicide Unit are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and subsequent crash.
No suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made as of Monday.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
