Broderick Ross Arrested After Fatally Shooting Brother During Domestic Dispute in Northaven

Shelby County, Tenn. — A man is in custody following a fatal shooting that claimed the life of his younger brother during a domestic dispute early Saturday morning in the Northaven community, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) confirmed.

The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Archie Drive, where investigators say 34-year-old Broderick Ross shot and killed his brother, 30-year-old Quincy Ross, outside a residence.

According to detectives, following the shooting, Broderick allegedly placed his brother’s body into a vehicle and fled the scene.

A multi-agency search was launched, and Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office deputies apprehended Broderick Ross around 3:00 a.m. in Edmondson, Arkansas, approximately 45 minutes from the original scene.

A short time later, authorities located Quincy Ross’s body nearby in the vicinity where the suspect had been detained.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the motive for the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between the siblings.

The nature of their conflict has not been publicly disclosed, and detectives are continuing their investigation.

Broderick Ross, a resident of Arkansas, has been charged by SCSO with:

  • Second-degree murder
  • Especially aggravated kidnapping
  • Carjacking
  • Employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony (carjacking)
  • Tampering with evidence

In addition to the charges filed in Shelby County, Ross is also facing additional charges in Crittenden County, where he is currently being held at the Crittenden County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet released further details regarding the timeline between the shooting and the suspect’s arrest.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
