Jujuan Martin wanted on warrants from Pittsburgh arrested at Youngstown store
YOUNGSTOWN, OH — A 32-year-old man taken into custody Wednesday by U.S. Marshals on outstanding warrants from Pittsburgh is now facing additional weapons charges after a loaded firearm was discovered in his vehicle, authorities said.
Jajuan Martin was arrested shortly after 1:10 p.m. near the intersection of Mahoning and Schenley avenues in Youngstown.
According to police reports, U.S. Marshals requested assistance from local officers after locating Martin at a retail store in the area.
As marshals attempted to take Martin into custody, he allegedly attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle and struck a law enforcement vehicle.
The collision caused only minor damage, and Martin was quickly apprehended.
A subsequent search of Martin’s vehicle revealed a loaded semiautomatic handgun concealed under the driver’s seat.
Youngstown police later charged him with two felony offenses: being a felon in possession of a firearm, a third-degree felony, and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony.
Martin was booked into the Mahoning County Jail and is expected to appear for arraignment in municipal court on Friday.
The circumstances surrounding the original warrants out of Pittsburgh have not been disclosed.
The case remains under investigation.
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
