Sister Killed, Brother Shot in Autaugaville Attempted Carjacking, Suspect in Custody

AUTAUGAVILLE, AL – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Monday night during an attempted carjacking, leaving one person dead and another seriously injured, according to Autauga County Sheriff Mark Harrell.

The incident took place around 11:40 p.m. near Highway 14 and Pickett Street, where siblings Cameron Reynolds and his sister were shot.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while Reynolds suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Kelmen Merrell King of Autaugaville, was taken into custody Tuesday morning.

He has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
