Attempted Murder-Suicide: Victims Identified in Fatal Shooting Outside Webster Cinemark Theater
Suspect suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was also taken to the hospital in critical condition.
WEBSTER, TX – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting outside a Webster movie theater that left two women dead and the suspect critically injured on Monday night.
The shooting occurred before 9:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Cinemark theater along the Gulf Freeway, just north of the NASA Bypass.
Officers arrived to find three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds: two adult women and a male suspect, according to Webster Police Chief Pete Bacon.
The victims, identified by family as 18-year-old Sherlyn Galvan and 24-year-old Athziri Cervantes, were transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to their injuries.
Authorities stated that the suspect, who sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound, was also transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
Investigators believe the shooting may have been linked to an estranged relationship between the gunman and one of the victims.
A BMW SUV with a shattered front passenger window was seen at the scene, surrounded by crime scene tape and first responders’ medical supplies.
The Webster Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is leading the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
