Las Cruces, NM – A devastating mass shooting at Young Park in Las Cruces late Friday night left at least three people dead and 16 others injured, according to local officials.

Authorities have confirmed that no suspects have been taken into custody at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The shooting occurred shortly after 10 p.m. in the parking lot of Young Park, where a large gathering was taking place.

Witnesses reported hearing a barrage of gunfire, sending people scrambling for cover.

Video footage from the scene captured chaotic moments as individuals ran for safety and hid behind vehicles while dozens of shots rang out in rapid succession.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, where multiple victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to a statement from the Las Cruces Police Department, most of the injured were transported to local hospitals for treatment, while others in critical condition were taken to University Medical Center of El Paso in Texas.

Authorities have not yet determined the motive behind the shooting, and details regarding the number of shooters or their identities remain unclear.

“Police are actively working to identify the suspect or suspects involved in this case,” the department stated.

In response to the incident, Las Cruces police are receiving investigative assistance from the New Mexico State Police, the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
