St. Louis, MO – Homicide detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday evening in the Fairgrounds neighborhood.

Authorities responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire at approximately 6:12 p.m. in the 4200 block of Peck Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

As law enforcement secured the area, stunned residents gathered outside, witnessing the aftermath of the tragedy.

Children were present in the neighborhood at the time of the shooting, further amplifying concerns about safety in the community.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
