Man Dies by Suicide in Front of Multiple Witnesses, Including Children, on Chadbourne Ridge Road
WATERBORO, Maine – A tragic incident unfolded at the overlook on Chadbourne Ridge Road in Standish, where a man died by suicide in front of multiple witnesses, including ten children.
According to authorities, the individual shot himself in the head with a firearm while standing in view of several people at the scenic overlook.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found the deceased man lying on the ground with the firearm still resting on his chest.
The York County Sheriff’s Office has taken control of the scene.
Standish Rescue has cleared the area, while law enforcement officers continue managing the situation.
Due to the number of witnesses, including multiple minors, the Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from Windham Police Department to help secure the area and manage the bystanders.
Authorities are working to provide support to those who witnessed the event.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
