18-year-old Daniel Hernandez Killed After Shooting and Vehicle Crash Near McNeese, Suspect Arrested

Lake Charles, LA – The Lake Charles Police Department (LCPD) is actively investigating a deadly shooting that resulted in a vehicle crash near the McNeese Legacy Center on McNeese Street late Sunday night.
According to Lieutenant Jeffrey Keenum, officers responded to a shooting and vehicle crash at approximately 10:58 p.m. on Sunday, March 9.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a wrecked vehicle and its driver, 18-year-old Daniel Hernandez, who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Despite life-saving efforts, Hernandez succumbed to his injuries.
Following the initial investigation, authorities identified and arrested 19-year-old Keith Demetrius Syas, of Lake Charles.

He has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting.
Detectives are currently working to determine the exact location of the shooting and the events leading up to the incident.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
