Suspect Arrested in Fatal Road Rage Shooting in Southeast Bexar County

BEXAR COUNTY, TX – A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a road rage incident that escalated into a fatal shooting in southeast Bexar County, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting on March 7 at the Valero Gas Station, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 181 South and East Loop 1604 South.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered Octavian Estrada suffering from a gunshot wound. Estrada succumbed to his injuries at the scene, officials confirmed.
Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots and observed a dark-colored truck fleeing the area.
Surveillance footage captured the confrontation leading up to the shooting, showing Estrada in a white sedan approaching a dark blue Chevrolet truck, later identified as belonging to Sean Anthony Samaniego, 34.
According to the BCSO, Samaniego denied firing the fatal shots, instead alleging that a passenger inside his truck was responsible.
However, authorities stated that Samaniego refused to cooperate with investigators.
Following the shooting, Samaniego fled the scene and later removed the trailer attached to his truck in an apparent effort to alter its appearance, knowing that law enforcement was actively searching for the vehicle, officials said.
Deputies later located the detached trailer, and Samaniego ultimately confirmed that it belonged to him.
Based on the investigation, a warrant was issued for Samaniego’s arrest on charges of tampering with evidence in connection with the murder investigation.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Bexar County Jail.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
This remains a developing story, and further updates will be provided as new details emerge.
