Authorities have confirmed the arrest of 21-year-old Jakobie Russell, the second suspect in the fatal shooting of North Texas rapper Ronnie Sibley and his 5-year-old daughter, R’mani Sibley.

Russell was taken into custody on March 7, 2025, and has been booked on charges of:

  • Capital Murder of Multiple Persons (Bail: $0.00)
  • Assault of a Pregnant Person (Bail: $0.00)

This arrest follows the apprehension of 24-year-old Adonis Robinson, who was taken into custody on March 6 in Livingston, Texas, with the assistance of Texas Rangers and Fort Worth police.

The deadly shooting occurred at Slappy’s Car Wash in Forest Hill, Texas, where Sibley had stopped to visit his daughter.

According to police, Robinson and Russell are the alleged gunmen responsible for opening fire on the 30-year-old musician and his young daughter, killing them both.

Investigators have not disclosed the circumstances leading to Robinson’s arrest and have not provided further details on how they located Russell.

Authorities have also not yet confirmed a motive for the shooting but have stated that “the music industry” is a factor in the ongoing investigation.

Family members revealed that R’mani had just celebrated her 5th birthday the day before the shooting.

Sibley, who resided in Crowley, Texas, had stopped in Forest Hill to spend time with his daughter when the attack occurred.

Bishop Rodney McIntosh, a spokesperson for the family, conveyed the immense grief of R’mani’s mother, stating:

“The mother wants everyone to know she is heartbroken and grieving. On behalf of the mother, I would ask them to do the right thing and come forward.”

Sibley also leaves behind a 12-year-old daughter, who is now mourning the loss of both her father and younger sister.

Court records show that Adonis Robinson has a violent criminal history and is a registered sex offender.

He was previously convicted in 2019 for attacking a woman who was walking along a trail.

Additionally, police have arrested Robinson’s girlfriend, Ka’lyla Maria, who is accused of being the getaway driver following the deadly shooting.

Authorities have not yet released further information regarding upcoming court proceedings for the suspects.

The investigation remains ongoing.
