UPDATE: Law enforcement officials have confirmed that no evidence of an active shooter or gunfire has been found at Corry Station following reports of a shots fired disturbance on Thursday morning.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call reporting possible gunfire at Corry Station, located on Chiefs Way off Navy Boulevard.

Deputies from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office are responding to reports of shots fired at Corry Station, part of Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. at the facility located on Chiefs Way off Navy Boulevard.

At this time, no additional details have been provided regarding potential casualties or suspects involved.

NAS Pensacola’s commanding officer, Capt. Chandra Newman, issued a statement regarding the response:
“Our security team is responding swiftly and expertly with our local law enforcement partners. Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families. Our security forces will continue to work with responding law enforcement to process the crime scene.”

Security Measures in Place:

  • NAS Pensacola and Corry Station have been placed on full lockdown.
  • All entry and exit gates are closed, including the Main Gate and West Gate of NAS Pensacola.
  • Personnel in the area are advised to shelter in place and follow official directives.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
