Yonkers, NY – A missing woman from the Bronx has been found dead in a suitcase near a busy highway just outside New York City, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

The victim, 26-year-old Pamela Alcantara, was last seen around 2 a.m. on Sunday at her home on Morris Avenue in the Bronx.

Five days later, on Thursday, authorities discovered human remains near the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers.

Law enforcement sources indicate that they strongly believe the remains belong to Alcantara.

According to officials, her body was found inside a suitcase in a creek near the highway.

Alcantara’s mother, speaking with Telemundo 47, confirmed that her daughter’s remains were discovered in Yonkers, reportedly stuffed inside a red suitcase.

Alcantara’s mother stated that she last spoke with her daughter on Sunday evening.

At the time, Pamela had just returned from a church event and was preparing to travel to Connecticut for another religious gathering.

However, she never arrived at her intended destination.

As of now, both the NYPD and Yonkers Police Department have not released official statements regarding the case.

It remains unclear whether authorities have identified any suspects or persons of interest.

One potential lead in the investigation is that Alcantara had been living with her ex-partner and had plans to move out.

It is unknown whether this detail is connected to her disappearance and tragic death.

Law enforcement officials continue to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding Alcantara’s death.

Authorities urge anyone with information regarding her disappearance or death to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
